Terms and Conditions of Car Rental with Huren Cars
This Rental Agreement (“Agreement”) is made between you, the “Renter,” and Huren Cars. By renting a vehicle from us, you agree to be bound by the following terms and conditions.
1 Rental Period & Extensions
The minimum chargeable rental period is 24 hours. Any rental, even for a few hours, will be charged for a full day.
Extension Policy:
If you wish to extend your rental period, you must contact Huren Cars in advance to receive approval and arrange for payment. Extensions are subject to vehicle availability.
2 Vehicle Condition and Fuel Policy
Fuel:
The rental car must be returned with the same level of fuel it was picked up with. If the fuel level is lower, the Renter will be charged for the difference at the current market rate. If the fuel level is higher, no compensation will be provided.
Cleanliness:
The Renter is expected to return the vehicle in a clean and tidy condition. If the car is returned excessively dirty and this hinders a proper inspection, Huren Cars reserves the right to have the vehicle cleaned at the Renter’s expense.
3 Insurance and Accident Procedure
Comprehensive Coverage:
All rentals with Huren Cars include comprehensive full insurance. This policy features zero excess, meaning you are not liable for the cost of repairs in the event of an insured accident, provided you are not at fault. Fault is determined by an official police report.
Accident Reporting:
In the event of an accident or any insured incident, you must immediately notify Huren Cars and obtain an official police report. Failure to fulfill these conditions may void your insurance coverage and make you fully responsible for all associated costs.
Insurance Validity:
The insurance is invalid in the event of deliberate damage to the car caused by intentional vandalism, reckless driving, or gross neglect.
4 Permitted Use and Restrictions
Geographical Limits:
Rental cars are permitted to travel only on paved public roads within Morocco.
Border Crossings:
Driving a rental car across international borders is strictly prohibited.
5 Late Return Policy
The Renter is granted a 6-hour grace period after the scheduled drop-off time.
If the vehicle is returned more than 6 hours late, the Renter will be charged for a full additional day’s rental.
6 Renter’s Responsibilities
Driver Requirements:
The driver must be at least 22 years of age and have held a valid driver’s license for a minimum of 2 years. The Renter must present a valid national driver’s license with details duplicated in Latin script. An International Driving Permit (IDP) is highly recommended if your license is not in Latin script.
Contact Availability:
The contact phone number provided at the time of booking must be available and reachable throughout the rental period. Huren Cars will not be liable for service issues if we are unable to contact the Renter.
Fines and Tolls:
The Renter is responsible for all payments related to fuel, parking fees, traffic fines, and toll roads incurred during the rental period.
Security Deposit:
A security deposit is required prior to taking possession of the vehicle. This deposit is fully refundable upon the safe return of the vehicle, provided the terms of this Agreement have been met and the car is returned without damage for which you are at fault.
7 Booking, Payment, and Cancellation
Booking Confirmation:
A reservation is confirmed once you receive a booking confirmation voucher from Huren Cars.
Payment:
The full rental payment is due upon vehicle pickup. The security deposit is also required at this time and can be provided via credit card or in cash as per our policy.
Cancellation Policy:
To cancel your reservation, you must contact Huren Cars in writing.
- Cancellations made more than 72 hours before the scheduled pickup time are eligible for a full refund.
- Cancellations made within 72 hours of the scheduled pickup time may be subject to a cancellation fee equivalent to one day’s rental rate.
8 Miscellaneous
Pets:
Only small pets are permitted to travel in rented cars and must be kept in an appropriate travel carrier at all times.
9 Refund Policy
General Refund Policy:
Huren Cars is committed to fair and transparent refund practices. All refunds are processed according to the terms outlined in this section.
Cancellation Refunds:
- Full refunds are issued for cancellations made more than 72 hours before pickup time.
- Partial refunds (minus one day’s rental fee) for cancellations within 72 hours of pickup.
- No refunds for no-shows or cancellations made less than 24 hours before pickup.
Security Deposit Refunds:
- Security deposits are fully refunded immediately if paid in cash.
- For credit card deposits, refunds are processed within 5-7 business days after vehicle return.
- Deductions may be made for fuel charges, cleaning fees, traffic violations, or damage costs.
- A detailed breakdown of any deductions will be provided to the Renter.
Refund Processing:
- Refunds are processed using the same payment method as the original transaction.
- Processing time may vary depending on your bank or payment provider (typically 5-10 business days for credit cards).
- Huren Cars is not responsible for delays caused by financial institutions.
Non-Refundable Items:
- Additional services purchased during the rental (GPS, child seats, etc.).
- Fees related to traffic violations, tolls, or parking tickets.
- Damage costs resulting from driver negligence or violation of rental terms.
By renting a vehicle from Huren Cars, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to abide by these Terms and Conditions.
